Overview

6 month fixed term contract

The role of the Insights team is to convert consumer and market information into the concise insights and strategic recommendations that provide Discovery Networks UK (DNUK) with competitive advantage.

The Commercial Insights Manager will play a key role in the team, working with the Senior Insights Manager and other team members to support commercial business functions such as Digital ad-sales and Brand Partnerships. The core responsibility of the role will be to actively take a lead in producing best-in-class, actionable insights that help maximise the value of our audiences – across all platforms - to advertisers and media agencies.

Responsibilities
• Act as the main Insight contact for the Digital ad-sales and Brand Partnerships team, providing them with best-in-class insights that help maximise the value of our audiences to advertisers and media agencies
• Fully exploit available TV and Digital audience data, and blend with other insights, to create compelling cross-platform sales decks and resources
• Play a key role in making discovery+ a key partner for advertisers, ensuring it is seen as a 'must have' on any media plan
• Build strong relationships with our sales teams, media agencies and clients, representing Insights at both internal and external meetings
• Be the voice of the consumer across all DNUK platforms; understanding who our audiences are, what makes them unique and attractive to advertisers
• Assist the sales teams with responding to client briefs, supporting them with powerful commercial insights that highlight our relance to the brand
• Lead on commercial insight projects with external research providers
• Support the Brand Partnership team with reporting on sponsorship campaigns (both pre and post broadcast) and identifying trends that could impact commercial performance
• Provide an Insight view on our sponsorship evaluation studies, ensuring methodology and KPIs are relevant and robust
• Be the Insight champion for commercial audience measurement and lead on cross-platform commercial measurement solutions (e.g. CFlight)

Qualifications
• Strong experience working in the media industry within an insights, research or media planning department – either a media owner or media agency
• Commercially minded with a passion for media, research and advertising; experience of supporting commercial teams or working within a commercial role is beneficial but not a requirement
• Experience with industry analysis tools such as Advantedge/TechEdge, Adobe Analytics, Audience Project and TGI
• Strong grasp of media metrics across TV and digital platforms
• Good knowledge of Microsoft (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI) and Google (e.g. Sheets, Slides) software packages
• A solid understanding of the UK TV and advertising markets
• A self-starter who takes initiative and is action oriented - able to plan, prioritise and complete work accurately in a set time frame
• Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong communications skills – able to produce clear, concise and relevant insights
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic organisation
