Job Description

The Associate Producer for Food Network and Cooking Channel serves as a valued partner to the Production and Development teams as well as to the Manager, Programming and Development by providing administrative and creative support on all aspects of assigned projects, from greenlight to delivery. The AP serves as a critical point of contact for their assigned shows and uses independent judgment to determine how all internal and external inquiries about a project should be handled. Works closely with the Development and Production Executives to ensure deadlines are met and deliverables are tracked appropriately and in a timely manner. Works with other departments to ensure they have all necessary show materials required to promote and support the success of the shows on air. When requested, AP provides creative input on projects assigned.

Responsibilities

1. Managed jointly by the Production and Development Executives (PEs) and Manager, Programming and Development, the AP will manage the project production schedule for contract compliance and overall project workflow. Track deliverables and communicate fulfillment of production and development milestones and production issues/changes to project team members. Track master delivery and QC/technical evaluation. Ensure masters pass evaluation prior to air.
2. As assigned, will support PE with production schedules, treatments, scripts, rough cuts, fine cuts, picture locks and other materials for both series and development. Additionally, AP will manage their own projects when assigned. Will be responsible for all aspects of these projects as outlined in this description.
3. Provide, organize, and dispense production information to outside production companies (including, but not limited to, clocks, producer’s guidelines, credits and copyright language, research information, integration information, QC/technical evaluation results, etc).
4. Maintain ongoing communication with production company to ensure the most accurate production information such as production schedule, shoot locations, talent needs, episode descriptions and titles, credits, scripts, graphics, etc.
5. Assist in pitch and development process. Write loglines when needed and coordinate video, paper, and other development materials needed for meetings.
6. Manage and distribute production and development delivery schedules, shooting locations, production company information, and other relevant program updates using appropriate databases. Enter and at times help write show and episode descriptions and titles, and parental rating information into database well before air.
7. Arrange and participate in meetings and conferences as requested.

8. Assist Executives with coordination and communication with other departments, including:
• Programming/Scheduling – provide episode descriptions, show/series titles, episode titles, and parental rating through system database. Develop alternative program titles and facilitate title clearance process as needed. Assist with the coordination and creative oversight of reloads and repacks.
• International – provide production updates, inform appropriate individuals of changes or fixes to programs that may be of concern to international networks.
• Digital/Social – work closely with the digital and social teams regarding digital deliverables, show promotion, talent relations management, and overall workflow.
• Marketing – Assist with finalization and delivery of show elements. Facilitate footage requests from marketing with production company for the purposes of show promotion.
• Communications – Provide treatments, episode descriptions, episode cuts, production delivery dates and shoot locations. Coordinate with PR regarding press releases, promotable titles, Upfront programs, and TCA.
• Ad Sales/Integrations – provide program clips for ad sales reels and Upfront presentations. Communicate trade-out forms review and approval, and graphics. Help manage ad sales program integrations with production company.
• Production Management – Provide timely updates on production schedules, milestone payment confirmation and other deliverables information.
• Business Affairs / Legal – Coordination and communication with Business Affairs and Legal as needed regarding business and contractual matters. Confirm program disclaimer language/viewer advisories with Business Affairs/Legal and Standards & Practices teams, as needed. Coordinate titles for shows.
• Awards / Competition – Work with PR team to provide required information for selected award entries and/or materials (includes information such as clips, episode and segment selection, program descriptions, credits, contact info).

9. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in TV/Film, Communications, Marketing or related field.

• A passion for food media and unscripted television.

• Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational ability.

• Proficient in MS Office (particularly Powerpoint and Excel), Mac, and GSuite.

• Working knowledge of video editing software (iMovie, Adobe Premiere, or other).

• 3-5 years of network, production company, agency, or similar experience.

• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
