As the Manager, Pistons PR, you will assist the vice president of public relations in serving local, national and international media covering the Detroit Pistons while helping maintain a positive public image for the team and company.

What you'll be doing
• Oversee and assist in the production of press releases, game notes, media guides and team publications
• Write/edit Pistons' NBA Blue Book submission and NBA Guide submissions
• Assist with story pitching and servicing media requests from local, national and international media while building good relationships with media that cover the team.
• Develop relationships with the TV and radio producers/update desk reporters
• Assist with practice and game coverage assistance with local writers, TV and radio talent
• Maintain and update the Pistons PR website with schedules and associated content
• Lead Pistons PR Twitter handle
• Handle and oversee all aspects of media relations preparation for games (credentialing, set-up, packet creation and distribution, traveling media lists and postgame reporting)
• Produce traveling media lists and itineraries prior to all road games
• Assist coaching staff/basketball staff with daily statistical requirements
• Travel with the team as a secondary PR representative as needed
What we're looking for
• Bachelor's degree with qualifying professional league media relations experience is preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media platforms is recommended
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, as needed
• Impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
• Ability to think creatively and put ideas into action
• Vast traditional and social media knowledge
• Must have ability to work under tight deadlines and to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
