Senior Audio Systems Engineer
Primary Responsibilities
• Become the lead of the Deluxe Audio London engineering department.
• Liaise with the head of audio and audio development manager to ensure the department is running smoothly with limited down time.
• Lead new theatre installs and upgrades as the business grows.
• Create new system operations to improve current setups / workflows.
• Provide support to all mix stages, ensuring that all rooms are lined up correctly to Dolby theatrical and HE standards including Atmos, 7.1 and 5.1 formats.
• Provide mixing desk support including Avid S6, S4, S3, S1 & Dock.
• Provide technical support by attending to machine/ amp room errors.
• Provide BSS audio architecture software maintenance.
• Manage audio IT network setup across theatres, edit rooms and offices in the department.
• Manage audio internal sever & shared storage systems along with the rest of the senior team.
• Cover TPN protocol with the ability to reach out to Deluxe IT team.
• Create a preventative maintenance data base to help ilvaite any future problems and improve studio efficiency / workflows.
• Create audio setup / trouble shooting guides for desks, machine room and amp rooms.
• Train junior members of staff in the following areas: theatre line ups, S6 setup, Dante communication, BSS audio architect software, machine room patching.
Secondary Responsibilities
• Increase Pro Tools knowledge by understudying mixers so that additional roles of mix tech / assistant can be fulfilled during busy periods.
• Assist with ADR/Foley setup, prior and during sessions.
• Provide theatrical and HE audio QC cover where needed.
Skillset Requirements
• At least 10 years' experience within the audio engineering workplace of the film and tv.
• Strong knowledge base in audio theatre setup both theatrical and HE.
• Dolby theatre line up experience.
• Avid mixing desks and outboard gear knowledge base.
• Previous experience managing a machine room with BSS, Dante networks, Audio Architecture software, Clearview and DDP servers.
• TPN management experience.
• Impeccable time keeping and the ability to work late at short notice is essential.
• This is a client facing role so good communication skills and professionalism are key.
• Strong Avid Pro-tools knowledge and Mac user experience.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight delivery deadlines.
• Willingness to learn new technology and take up new responsibilities when necessary.
• Strong team player with a passion for film, tv and music.
