Recruitment Specialist – Translator Freelance Sourcing

We are seeking an outgoing, innovative Recruitment Specialist with experience and understanding of the localization industry who can lead talent search campaigns for freelance translators and post editors in the APAC region/suite of languages. As the first point of contact for freelancers, the Recruitment Specialist acts as a brand ambassador of Deluxe Localization, shepherding them through the engagement and on-boarding process.

About the Team

Localization is the process of translating and adapting content to specific geographical regions for consumption in local markets. Though many services make up the elements of the localization process including dubbing and subtitling, the goal of localization is to be authentic to the content being created, protecting the creative vision, specifically for a target market, no matter their language, culture, or location.

Main Duties

In this role, your primary focus will be to develop and execute recruiting plans for localization freelancers for multiple languages within the APAC region. You will work with the global talent acquisition team to efficiently and effectively maintain freelance translator pools to accommodate fluctuating work volumes. You will maintain all applicant data and assist in the on-boarding process, including resume screening, testing, contract execution and rate negotiations. You will be working cross functionally with Project Coordination, Community Support, Linguistic Quality, Translator Resources and Translator Training teams to help position Deluxe as a preferred collaborator for the translator community. This position reports to the Director of Supplier Management, Localization, who is based in the US

Primary Responsibilities
• Research and recommend new sources for active and passive freelancer recruiting
• Build networks to find qualified candidates
• Post positions to appropriate Internet sources and research new recruitment sources
• Use social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates
• Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees
• Locate and document where to find ideal candidates for all languages and regions
• Aid marketing department and software developers in establishing a recognizable ''preferred vendor'' reputation to attract freelancers to register with us (passive recruitment efforts)
• Review freelancer skill sets to evaluate which level of workflow complexity requirements can be met
• Create and manage freelancer job descriptions
• Develop working relationships within university programs to aid in recruiting new talent

Experience, Qualifications & Key Competencies
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
• Familiarity working with freelance talent
• Localization industry experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of at least one additional language is an advantage
• Experience in working with multinational and multicultural teams, and cultures that extend beyond the corporate footprint
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, reacting quickly to escalations and able to handle high-volume communications from multiple sources
• Skilled problem-solver who thinks critically and creatively and is able to determine root cause of issues
• The ability to multitask and meet agreed upon deadlines
• The ability to manage complex projects
• Demonstrate collaborative spirit, and a great team player
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organization skills
