Position Title
QC Tech, Audio Description
Main Duties
• Listen to recorded Audio Description (AD), comparing the content of the AD to the video in order to ensure that the narration is accurate, as well as check the narration for any misreading of the AD script, audio glitches, or additional noises.
• Use a designated QC report and other documentation to verify compliance of Deluxe product to client specifications with regard to content, legal, and technical specs.
• Follow department protocols for applying changes to the AD script
• Duties require a keen eye for recognizing important details in the program that need to be conveyed to visually impaired people, along with a methodical, accurate, and detail-oriented approach to monitoring audio, video, and any onscreen text
• Prep QC materials for freelance QC Techs
• Assist Quality Manager with QC scheduling as needed
• Proof AD scripts as needed
• Minor administrative duties as needed
What You Bring
• AD Experience a plus
• 2-4 years proofreading, copyediting, and/or copywriting experience preferred
• Education and/or strong interest in film and television
• Individual must possess a fundamental understanding of audio, video, PC, Mac, Microsoft Word and Excel
• Individual must be able to troubleshoot quality control issues and player anomalies
• Individual must be organized, diligent, and detail-oriented
• Individual must possess solid verbal and written communication skills
• Duties require an accurate and methodical approach to the QC process, as well as a very focused and detailed attention to audio quality and writing content.
• Individual must be capable of working in a fast-paced, small team environment with hard deadlines
• Individual will need to make frequent ''subjective'' decisions as part of their daily function (e.g. determining the ''severity rating'' for quality defects, determining which defects are acceptable, etc.)
