QA Engineer

Position Summary

We currently have a need for a QA Engineer to join our team As a QA Engineer at Deluxe, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality through the development and execution of software test plans by way of verification procedures based upon software and system specifications. This position is ideal for individuals who have the drive and desire to ensure quality. It requires a highly motivated engineer with attention to details and a hunger to learn and solve problems.

Main Duties
• Builds and maintains automated test systems
• Creates and automates test plans and test specifications
• Investigates and debugs issues, can conduct root cause analysis
• Reviews test productivity tools and libraries, making recommendations to improve the overall productivity of the team
• Reviews design documentation to ensure that requirements stated are clear and verifiable
• Coordinates well with software product development teams to evaluate requirements of the overall system
• Documents test cases and creates test plans with detailed functional and usability test cases for each deliverable
• Develops and maintains a repository of smoke, regression, and data integrity test cases
• Plans and prioritizes test efforts and ensures the resolution of defects based on tradeoff between severity of defect and change impact to committed release and delivery dates
• Builds testing reports and communicates results proactively

What you Bring
• 3+ years of experience testing full technology stack
• Demonstrated experience with current software languages, application code designs and patterns, writing in Java, JavaScript, or Python
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment which includes Product Owners, Software Engineers and QA Engineers on the day-to-day execution of quality assurance efforts to meet committed delivery dates
• Knowledge or experience in Testing tools, problem solving and troubleshooting
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
• Self-starter who is comfortable taking a task and delivering on it without lots of management
• Ability to work remotely and unaided when out of team time zones
• Sound understanding of test automation framework design
• Solid experience testing Web Service APIs
• Detailed knowledge of one or more test frameworks (NUnit, XUnit, JUnit, Mocha, etc.)
• Experience with SQL databases and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, etc.)

Desired Experience
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Experience using container technologies (Docker)
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• A minimum of a BS in Computer Science or related field of study
