Position Summary

We currently have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join Deluxe as a Paralegal. As part of a small in-house legal team, this role will serve as a critical member of the Legal Department, providing direct support to the Director of Legal Affairs for EMEA and APAC based in the UK and the SVP, General Counsel based in the US as well as other business teams within Deluxe. The successful applicant will need to have the relevant experience and a keen interest in general corporate, HR, drafting and compliance and risk matters.

Main Duties
• Preparation of legal documents such as NDAs, side letters/extensions, asset return/destruction letters, incorporating exhibits/schedules and general layout & formatting issues.
• Organising the execution of agreements (using DocuSign & Adobe Acrobat), corresponding with third parties/external counsel.
• Responsibility for legal post and flagging any urgent items.
• Responding to County Court Claims and drafting/issuing Statutory demand letters.
• Managing EMEA Legal and Privacy inboxes. Responding to general enquiries including, Data subject requests (SAR).
• Processing legal invoices through SAP and maintaining financial trackers.
• Maintaining client files / contracts in both physical and electronic formats.
• Organising ICO certificates and annual renewals.
• Company Secretarial responsibilities in the UK including statutory filing, maintaining company books, supervising board and committee meetings, publishing meeting packs, taking minutes, drafting resolutions and advising management on matters of governance.
• Assisting with M&A work and providing company secretarial responsibilities with coordinating statutory filing with local counsels within the EMEA and APAC regions.
• Drafting documents related to the liquation of UK business.
• Responsible for contract management and monitoring of key contract and other deadlines.
• Supporting the day-to-day legal requirements of the business including, compliance, risk, ops, management, and other functions.

What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree / Paralegal certification
• Previous post qualified experience as a Paralegal in a mid to large sized law firm or in-house legal team including experience of preparing and maintaining corporate records and drafting corporate formation documents.
• Excellent communication, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Able to both take direction and show initiative. Be proactive and the ability to work independently.
• Work collaboratively with Legal Department and business team members.
• Unquestionable ethics and integrity.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in fast-paced, private equity backed environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
• Relevant computer knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge of compliance and data protection strongly preferred.
