Supervising Producer - International

Job Description

The supervising producer works with show producers to hone the editorial direction of CNNI shows, keeps an eye on latest story developments, and checks for updated guidance from editors and managers. Supervising producers are the senior editorial voice in the control room for show output. During breaking news, supervising producers are expected to make timely decisions about coverage and consult managers when necessary. Each supervisor's shift covers several hours of programming.

Additionally, supervisors work with guest planners and newsgathering to help producers build out thought provoking segments.
Occasionally, supervisors may need to work out last minute staffing changes and train new staff. They are responsible for managing the performance reviews of a small group of staff.

Candidates must be willing to work overnights and weekends, sometimes on short notice.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of live newscast producing, excellent writing skills, ability to make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
• Genuine interest in international news and a thorough understanding of network operations required.
