The Job
The CNN Core News teams play a central role in the CNN.com digital news portfolio. These teams focus on the consumer experience and build exciting new products with the aim to create an engaging experience for our customers that frequent the flagship products.

The Core Revenue team is seeking a Full Stack Senior Engineer to join the team and contribute to the technical development of products aligned with our mission to grow engagement with our customers as well as revenue which is critical to the business. The team seeks to understand our customers better so we can deliver the right products to our customers. This is a great opportunity for an individual that is passionate about UX and wants to bring their engineering skills to the table and help us build great experiences.

As a Senior Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with on a cross-functional team on the delivery of exciting new digital products. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to get in the code and enjoys a challenge while building some cutting-edge new products along the way. You are also someone who is looking to grow in your profession and help us advance the engineering culture and maturity at CNN.

The Daily
• Develop new products, including optimizing the User Experience on CNN, performance marketing and ads related opportunities, A|B tests, instrumentation, and analytics
• Get in the code! Be passionate about software engineering with a strong sense of ownership for the code that you and your team write
• Participate in code reviews and champion best coding practices on the team, including semantic and accessible markup, unit testing, and documentation
• Work closely with Product, Design and Technology leads to iterate on new products in the development phase

The Essentials
• Advanced full-stack industry experience with modern engineering technologies, including JavaScript, Node, HTML/CSS. Hands-on familiarity with both client and server technology and have a solid understanding of common software data structures and algorithms
• Experience working with modern cloud and infrastructure technologies, such as AWS, Serverless, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform
• Experience with CI/CD and Quality Assurance (Jenkins, Code Pipeline, Unit testing)
• A passion to grow professionally. Seek self-improvement and are adaptable to suggestions and feedback
• Effective communication skills
• Working knowledge of Agile processes and ceremonies
