The Job
The CNN+ Research & Analytics Director will use both qualitative and quantitative research methods, as well as data analysis, to deliver actionable consumer insights that inform and enhance our ability to convert and retain subscribers to CNN's first direct-to-consumer product, CNN+. The CNN+ Research & Analytics Director is a senior member of the Digital Research & Analytics department and will work closely with cross-functional leaders across the product, design, technology, and growth teams.

The Daily
You will work with highly collaborative cross-functional teams to convert user data and research into answers that inform and influence product and growth strategy. Identify opportunities where research and analytics will improve and enhance decision making in pursuit of building great user and product experiences that convert and retain subscribers
• Build, lead and manage a team of researchers and analysts focused on deeply understanding our users, how they use our products, and what that means about how our digital products and experiences evolve.
• Develop research and analytics plans that deliver insights that lead to strategic recommendations
• Plan and execute original qualitative and quantitative consumer research
• Develop deep partnerships with our Product Management, Growth, and Marketing teams to deliver user insights that inform product and go-to-market decisions.
• Communicate insights across the organization to a variety of audiences, from product teams to executives
• Collaborate with other research & analytics teams to inform, build, and scale the research and analytics infrastructure that makes it easier to do more and better research.
• Ensure the team is aligned with stakeholders across the Product and Growth organizations
• Act as both manager and individual contributor to deliver user insights, guide product decisions and measure ongoing performance
• Manage a team and responsible for people activities such as recruitment, performance, development and building a diverse high performing culture

The Essentials
• 10+ years of research and analytics experience, preferably in digital media or direct to consumer
• 5+ years of experience using research and analytics to support product, marketing or growth teams
• 3+ years of experience leading a team
• Expert communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and drive consensus at the executive level.
• Strong data analysis skills and the ability to distill complex findings into digestible insights
• Expertise with a broad set of quantitative and qualitative user research methods, including surveys, focus groups, and user interviews
• Experience with competitive intelligence tools such as comScore and SimilarWeb
• Deep understanding of digital media landscape, particularly news and SVOD
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple projects
• Self-starter and strategic thinker who takes ownership of projects
