The Job

The Production Assistant supports the Vice President, Content Development and Contributors, and should be a self-motivated individual with strong research, writing, video selection and transcribing skills. The PA should love CNN Original Series and Films and closely follow the people and personalities who shape our national conservation.

The Daily
• Cutting film/series clips, logging interviews and assisting with any other production needs.
• Flexibility and time management is essential.
• Brainstorming new ideas and guests to feature on CNN's platforms.
• Story research.
• Organizing production materials--- tapes, photographs, etc.
• Making and updating guest logs and files.
• Dubbing, logging interviews/video and assisting with any other production needs.
• Dubbing of Library and outside source video/film materials; distribution of finished pieces.
• Computer database research. Fact checking.
• Organizing production materials--- tapes, photographs, etc.
• Making and updating logs to correspond with those materials Logging b-roll, transcribing on camera interviews.

The Essentials
• Prior production experience that includes basic video dubbing
• Prior research experience - online databases
• Familiarity with national politics, cable news guests Familiarity with MIRA, iNews, Mediasource, Ardcap, Lexis Nexis (a plus) Minimum of 1-3 years development/programming
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Must be highly organized, a creative problem solver, Team player; good attitude; flexible
• Ability to multi-task and be successful in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• College Degree required
