Job Description
Manager, Social Media Publishing (CNN+)

The Manager, Social Media Publishing is responsible for publishing and campaign strategy for CNN+ social media. In tandem with the Sr. Manager, Organic Social Strategy, you will ensure all CNN+ social media content is published on time, on the right platforms, according to the journalistic standards of CNN. You will manage the always-on editorial calendar and publishing operations across all organic social media channels.

The Daily
• Publish content to social platforms, like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter
• Work with the Sr. Manager, Organic Social Strategy to set, maintain and evolve publishing strategy across social platforms
• Develop and operate a rigorous QA program for all social media content published by CNN+
• Develop strategies to increase growth engagement across our social accounts, identifying areas of opportunity and delivering against performance benchmarks
• Leverage performance insights and social listening data to refine publishing, content and community management strategies
• Develop and operate an always-on community management framework
• Serve as a liaison between all internal departments to ensure cohesive strategies and integrated campaigns
• Maintain CNN's commitment to journalistic integrity across all CNN+ profiles
• Contribute to the development and execution of the CNN+ brand tone of voice in digital
• Identify industry insights and trends to define and refine channel approach
• Effectively supervise junior staff, providing direction, managing workflow, and overseeing skill development

The Essentials
• 3-5 years experience developing and executing social media strategies at a large journalistic or non-fiction media company or publisher; experience managing a team
• Demonstration of outstanding editorial judgment
• Proven experience developing quality assurance or fact checking systems
• Experience with a full stack of social media tools, including platform and third party analytics, social listening, publishing and community management (i.e.,Netbase, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, ListenFirst, Conviva, Sprinklr, HootSuite)
• Proven track record of refining content strategies based on performance insights
• The ability to effectively perform under pressure, identify and delegate tasks effectively, and pay close attention to detail while staying focused on the big picture
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• An ability to think both creatively and strategically
