Warner Media's Brand Studio, Courageous Studios, leads the production of cross-platform branded content for advertisers of CNN and HLN. Courageous is a world-class production department based in New York City. It is a highly successful business that experienced exponential growth in 2019 with output of over 500 short and long-form films, multiple high-scale experiential/event executions (a fast-growing area) and numerous other digital assets including interactives, storytelling experiences Data display and quizzes, photo essays, infographics, podcasts, and more.

The Junior Designer at Courageous will join a thriving operation, liaising with many individuals and teams within the WarnerMedia Ad Sales organization, including sales and marketing, as well as a Who's Who of blue-chip brand clients and agency partners. Courageous produces bold and relevant work of real interest to the CNN audience; a network available to more than 2 billion people in more than 200 countries and territories, spanning TV, Web, OTT, social media, mobile and smart devices. There is more growth to come for Courageous in 2021 and beyond as we continue to develop ground-breaking, revenue-driving, branded content campaigns.

You will play a critical role helping to build out a best-in-class custom content and ad products. This person will have an immense opportunity to help define and build industry leading ad products and branded content experiences that will be distributed on an unparalleled scale. The work we do is inspiring, fast, cool, and creative. This role reports into the Director of Design and Development and will be part of a team that includes writers, designers, motion graphics and senior and junior developers.

Responsibilities:

Design
• No project is too big or small. Flexible and able switch between working on client projects and internal initiatives. It is no problem for you to go from working on a deck one day to websites or print the next.
• You are always asking questions and improving templates while coming up with more efficient ways for the team to work together.
• Does not just focus on the end product but also considers all aspects of the project from concepting to completion.
• Your production files are clean and easy to make sense of.
• Communicates openly with the greater team to QA and review work for design accuracy, functionality, and that all notes are met.
• Reviews all requests, specs and passed assets for questions.
• Discuss ideas with Directors and Writers to collaboratively come up with exciting design executions for RFP's and sold work.

Qualifications:
• Candidate should have practical experience in the design field and along with a familiarity creating Advertising and Editorial-based products, preferably for a digital publisher.
• A degree in graphic design, interaction design, or another related field.
• Strong conceptual and visual design background pertaining to typography, color theory, illustration, photography, and layout approaches.
• Expert in the full Adobe CS, Figma/Sketch. Experience with Illustration, After Effects, Coding, and Premier is a plus.
• Experience working on but not limited to: Websites, UX/UI, Ad Design, Motion Graphics, Art Direction, Illustration, Decks, Experiential, Print Design, Identity Design, Mood boards, and Photo Editing.
• You are hyper organized and strive in a very fast paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability articulating your thought processes and presenting work to clients, agencies, and internal partners.
• Agile and able to manage working on multiple projects at once. A welcome source of knowledge to those around you.
• You are as strong working independently as you are collaboratively.
• Eager to be a both a voice and face for the team.
