The Job

WarnerMedia seeks an Associate Writer for the CNN Business Editorial department.

CNN Business is hiring an Associate Writer on our programming team. We create and curate extraordinary content - from text to videos to interactives -- that's promoted across all of CNN's digital platforms. The ideal candidate for this role has a thirst for news and can create headlines and news alerts that engage audiences. You should be skeptical, but not cynical, and genuinely excited by the changes and disruptions happening in the world of business.

The Daily
• Research, pitch and write breaking news stories on a wide variety of business topics
• Program and curate homepages for CNN Business.
• Pitch and write breaking news stories on a wide variety of business topics. Gather facts and fact check
• Generate story ideas
• Create headlines and images for homepages and article pages

The Essentials
• At least one-year relevant experience in digital journalism.
• Work a weekend schedule, Friday through Monday
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Ability to generate and pitch ideas.
• Must have sound editorial news judgement, and an awareness of current business and finance news trends
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of an unpredictable news cycle.
