Job Description
Purpose of the Role

The Account Manager is responsible for generating revenues from entire mainland China-based advertisers by selling advertising, sponsorship and creative solutions from CNN, CNN International, CNN digital, social, WarnerOne and other upcoming commercial platforms CNN will develop and make available for advertising.

Areas of Responsibility

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

1. To work with the line manager to ensure his/her individual sales targets are on track for success.
• Have a clear understanding of CNN products and present them to the set of clients and agencies as defined from time to time
• Manage client and agency relationships and oversee both clients and agencies of current and targeted accounts. An identified client list will be provided for direct interaction and engagement between the Account Manager and the client
• Maximize new business potential from direct clients and agencies
• To work with the creative solutions team to ensure that you are proposing the ''best possible solution'' to the client's brief that is targeted, bespoke and demonstrates a clear understanding of the clients business and advertising/communication needs.

2. Collecting and sharing market intelligence, creative ideas and knowledge with team

3. To undertake accurate and timely pipeline reporting as required

Areas of Accountability

1. Business Planning
• Assist the Account Director in creating strategic and operational sales plans for the market by providing information on new business potential and growth activities for existing customers.
• Develop the sales plan for the client set detailing the pipeline for each individual product.
• Gather market information and intelligence to identify future growth areas.
• Partner with various internal groups to develop best solutions for clients.

2. Execution & Results
• Achieve the revenue target for all products.
• Manage all aspects of the sales cycle to close sales deals successfully
• Develop market confidence by delivering on commitments and exceeding customer expectations.
• Provide accurate and timely weekly/monthly sales forecasts

3. Developing Professional Capability
• Keep up to date with trends and developments in the media industry to gain early insights into new business opportunities.
• Continuously evolve personal and professional capability in line with business needs.

Job Requirements / Skills

Essential
• 3-4 years of media sales experience, preference for candidates with experience in international media
• Experience of working on digital with good knowledge and understanding of digital sales.
• Experience of working with vertical sectors such as government, tech… Understand government relations and practices.
• Experience managing Accounts and delivering strong year-on-year growth in sales and margin.
• Excellent presentation skills - in both creation and presentation to large groups of people.
• Must have a good understanding of the sales cycle, being able to connect with and understand client needs.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills - Ability to listen and tailor plans to customers' needs.
• Proven ability to work across functions, problem-solving, influence colleagues and work within a team
• Fluent in English, Chinese native speaker

Desirable
• Good relationship with central/provincial/municipal government level of bureaus/companies or project/events experience
• 2xperiences of content strategy/production for international media
