Responsibilities

CNBC is seeking a Lead Producer to join our growing digital original video team. This position is perfect for a producer who is a business news junkie with extensive experience in reporting business and financial news. They passionately follow personal finance, the future of the workplace and market stories. Ideally, they've worked extensively with both sponsored content and original journalism. This person will be a jack of all trades, who can confidently produce, script, shoot and edit original digital video. S/he understands what makes content good for digital and how to present it in a way that fulfills our sponsorship requirements. S/he should have a passion for business news and a desire to educate the public about important financial issues. The producer must be a team player, excited to collaborate with other reporters and producers on their stories as well.

The ideal candidate is a talented reporter, dynamic script writer, creative editor, thoughtful producer, and skilled shooter. S/he has a passion for visual storytelling, and thrives in a fast-paced news environment, where deadlines are tight but generous enough to allow for investigations.

Editorial judgment, writing and editing experience are paramount. Finding unique angles, crafting sharp scripts and video content on tight deadlines is what this job is all about. This person should have a passion for telling stories that are uniquely targeted to CNBC's digital audience. Writing articles to set up videos, collaborating with the social and text reporter teams is also expected. When there aren't strategic content needs, this producer will help edit, shoot, and script content for the rest of the CNBC Digital Video team.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:
• At least 7 years of experience with all aspects of digital video production including producing, scripting, reporting, shooting and editing
• Mastery of Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, DSLR cameras (Canon, Sony, Panasonic), and other industry standard equipment and tools
• Script and/or voice-over writing experience
• Knowledge of multimedia storytelling and working knowledge of online publishing systems
• Highly collaborative and creative attitude, a willingness to work across departments
• Demonstrable organizational and time management skills and the ability to work well under deadline pressure
• Ability to lift, carry and transport production equipment on a regular basis
• A sample of the candidate's work will be required *please provide links when applying*
• Strong interest in innovative video storytelling and strategic thinking for the CNBC brand
• Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel
• Ability to influence stakeholders and steer conversations about content as well as interviews
• Solid editorial judgement and excellent time management skills
• Passion for creating original reporting and sponsored content
• Flexible mindset as our workflow evolves
• Must be willing to work in Englewood Cliffs
