OVERVIEW
The Assistant Promo Producer/Editor reports directly to the Deputy Head of News to take part in conceptualising, producing and editing on-air promotions, show topicals, interstitials and brand awareness campaigns for CNBC International.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the conceiving, writing, producing and editing original of promos for news events and sponsored programme segments.
- Monitor breaking news and core programming to collect promotion ideas, sound bites and news clips in order to regularly update Proof of Performance and news promos.
- Liaise with Senior Promo Producer and show producers, including editorial, graphics, scheduling and operations.
- Work with Senior Promo Producer to quality check edited material prior to broadcast and ensuring that all work is completed to a high technical standard.
- At certain times, assist with newsroom edits of key interviews, footage and soundbites for live show purposes as well as to include in promo material
- Ad hoc duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in at least one of the following edit systems: Adobe Premier, Edius, Final Cut, Final Cut x, Avid
- Fast, adaptable non-linear editing skills
- Solid record of creating compelling promos
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent sense of pace and timing
- Shoot experience, including working with talent and crews would be advantageous
- Understanding of financial markets, business and economics desirable
- Ability to work calmly and effectively in extremely stressful time critical situations
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
