NOTE: Cinedigm is currently a 100% work-from-home company. While we may return to an office environment in the future, we do not have plans to return to an office setting until after Q3 of calendar year 2021. When we return to an office environment, this position will be based in Los Angeles, and the incumbent will be required to work from the office on a part or full-time basis, as needed. Reporting to the SVP Finance and Accounting, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for companywide controllership activities. The Corporate Controller will play a critical hands-on role in building a world-class Accounting function while partnering across the business, ensuring our systems and processes are running smoothly and are scalable as we strive toward best-in-class operations.

Key Duties:
• Manage the Companywide Controllership function and own all aspects of general accounting, technical accounting, SOX controls and compliance, reporting and analysis, SEC reporting, treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, royalty accounting, stock administration, retirement accounts, tax planning and compliance, audit preparation and oversight
• Proven experience streamlining and tightening accounting processes across procure to pay, invoice to cash and record to report
• Evaluate all new and existing revenue arrangements to ensure compliance with ASC 606 including Principal versus Agent determination
• Train, develop and mentor staff
• Work with the SVP, Finance and Accounting to establish a Financial Center of Excellence
• Oversee monthly financial close including detailed analysis and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
• Hands-on management of all SEC reporting and SOX compliance functions
• Manage relationships with auditors and external accounting/tax advisors
• Prepare all technical accounting updates, and memorandums in accordance with US GAAP
• Create all financial policies and procedures ensuring they are followed for compliance and accuracy
• Ensure proper accounting and tax treatment of all payroll and stock transactions
• Continuously evaluate all accounting and financial processes to identify opportunities for improving efficiencies including automation of processes and potential system enhancements/implementations
• Support accounting operations in conducting quarterly self-assessments and periodic testing to ensure there are no deficiencies in controls requiring reporting under the Sarbanes-Oxley regulations
• Perform in-depth financial analysis, including unit metrics, variance analyses, and key drivers of business performance
• Collaborate with functional teams and provide fact-based recommendations that support financial targets, improve profitability, operational efficiency and effectiveness
• Partner with business leaders throughout the organization to ensure company alignment around real estate, bonus compensation, sales commissions, headcount, expense procedures, and vendor payments
• Provide support for the annual budgeting and planning process
• Provide leadership and vision for scaling the team and our financial infrastructure to keep up with the demands of the Company's high-growth business
• Ensure adequate insurance coverage and lead related renewals
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for presentation to executive management and the Board of Directors
• Special projects as necessary

Essential Qualifications:
• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance and MBA or similar advanced degree is highly preferred
• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
• Active CPA license required
• Experience in a ''big 4'' firm preferred
• Public company streaming, media or entertainment experience is required
• US GAAP expertise
• Proven hands-on experience managing extensive SEC filing processes
• Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
• Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
• High attention to detail
• Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
• Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
