Editorial Assistant - Contract

NOTE: Cinedigm is currently a 100% work-from-home company. While we may return to an office environment in the future, we do not have plans to return to an office setting until after Q4 of calendar year 2022. We are committed to providing a safe work environment.

Cinedigm is looking for and Editorial Assistant on a Contract basis to assist The Film Detective. The ideal candidate for this role should have attention to detail, great grammar and spelling, and be extremely organized.

Some of the proposed duties would be:
• Writing synopses (all of our Film Detective assets that are ingested into Matchpoint need new synopsis x4 (long, med., short, logline); we've been writing as we go, but having a staff member do this instead of a contractor would help speed up our process.
• Both scheduling Keyframe (our editorial site) articles and writing some editorial reviews.
• Contributing to filling in and proofing other metadata as needed (this is needed for every we migrate into Matchpoint).
• Help coordinate and track editorial contributors for Keyframe; keep a running calendar of expected articles in, due dates for contributors (written and video).
• Assist with scheduling social posts that they also might be asked to write copy for.
• Assist with proofing articles, podcast descriptions, and other written works when needed.
• Sit in on programming meetings and be able to assist with programming a playlist if needed. Contribute editorial ideas as we brainstorm monthly themes for all 3 channels.
• Ability to work with many contributors who all have deadlines and need someone who will take the initiative to reach out and ensure those deadlines are met.

Essential Qualification:
• A keen interest in film.
• Ability to write/speak on film for multiple channel offerings.
• Experience in marketing.
• Ability to contextualize their editorial skills for tangible results.
