Purpose of position:

To help produce a multi-platform morning news experience for the CBS Chicago audience. The Multi-Platform Producer will use social listening and other news gathering skills to identify, research and produce content reflective of the CBS Chicago brand. This position will have an emphasis on storytelling and audience engagement on social media platforms to help set the agenda for the news day ahead and to build a two-way conversation with our audience.

Primary accountabilities:

Propose and research story ideas of an enterprise nature

Generate content by monitoring and engaging in newsworthy social media conversations

Work with TV producers to curate and integrate user-generated content in our morning broadcast

Coordinate with producers, reporters, photographers and editors to produce original social media videos that will help our morning show content and talent reach new audiences

Contribute to the newsroom initiative to establish ''real-time'' workflows for both the broadcast and digital teams

Follow up on viewer tips and story suggestions

Contribute to daily news coverage

Requirements:

We are seeking a Results-Oriented, Strategic, Conceptual/Analytical, standout colleague

Preferred education and experience requirements:
• College degree, preferably in journalism or related field
• Experience with non-linear editing software
• Experience with Adobe Premiere or motion graphics software
• Proven experience using social media platforms and analytics
• Experience as a television line producer preferred
• Familiarity with Chicago highly desirable
