Candidate must have a minimum of five years of experience as a weather anchor working in a television newsroom. Requires on-air experience in weather anchoring and live weather reporting. Successful candidates must have advanced forecasting skills and the ability to handle multiple weather situations. Duties include producing accurate and viewer-focused forecasts and content for broadcast, digital platforms, and all forms of social media. Meteorologist must be accurate in forecasting all weather events including hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, and flooding. As well as tackling meteorologist topics like climate change and how weather impacts everyone every day.

Must have knowledge and understanding of computer graphics systems and computer forecasting. A thorough understanding of Doppler Radar, Nexrad Radar and satellite maps as tools for forecasting a must. Experience with tropical meteorology is a plus.

Job Description:
• Meteorologist is responsible for preparing and delivering accurate and reliable weather reports over multiple platforms.
• Prepare and deliver urgent weather updates, interrupting regular programming as necessary on television as well as our other digital platforms.
• Report live from events and make public appearances and volunteer in community projects on behalf of station as needed.
• Write and produce content for our multi-platforms: (TV, Website, App and OTT)
• Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
• Knowledgeable with WSI MAX is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in meteorology is required.
• NWA and/or CBM seal preferred
