Paramount Tech is hiring a Maintenance Engineering Senior Manager

This position is responsible for planning and coordinating the maintenance and support of production and broadcast systems for the CBS Network. This includes leading staff and managing infrastructure that provides critical, 24x7 support for on-air systems. This leader will coach the staff in handling failures and performance impairments of play-out systems, content servers, network infrastructure, and studio production systems to mitigate impact to revenue and ratings.

Role Details:
• Diagnostic troubleshooting related to technical or operational issues impacting live feed and non-linear video distribution platforms and monitoring.
• Manage immediate restoration and repair actions and vendor engagement of studio production and post production equipment. Ensure that all facilities supported by Maintenance Engineering operate with the highest level of quality and performance.
• Communicate with Operations teams to provide status of open requests, provide technical solutions as needed, proactively collaborate to anticipate operational requirements and mitigate issues.
• Assist the Director of Maintenance Engineering with handling day to day department operations, acting as the management lead when the Director is unavailable, attending meetings and communicating with senior level management.
• Coach and mentor staff to develop effective troubleshooting methods to solve problems quickly, collaborate and devise innovative solutions to streamline and simplify systems design.
• Ensuring payroll accuracy, manage overtime and scheduling for the department.

Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years progressive leadership experience.
• Good technical understanding of: Software applications, Network configurations, Performance & system health analytics, Storage management, Broadcast Media Processing & Playout Systems, File transcoding & movement, Database query/handling, Security,
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Qualifications
• In depth knowledge of IT systems and/or television broadcast systems.
• Solid understanding of media systems' design and architecture
• High level of initiative and collaboration, proactive and innovative approach to solving problems.
• Industry knowledge, including recent trends in technology and awareness of competing products and services.

• Experience in the design and/or maintenance of Broadcast IT facilities a plus.
• Familiarity with IP video SMPTE 2110 and SMPTE 2059 PTP a plus.
• Familiarity with networking components and topology
• Understanding of broadcast and production video servers & playout automation systems
• Telestream Vantage workflows and transcoding platforms
• Knowledge of on prem and cloud storage solutions
• AWS Cloud infrastructure and application experience
• AutoCAD and/or Visio
• Avid Media Composer, Media Central, Adobe Premiere, EVS
• Knowledge of RF, satellite uplinks and signal acquisition.

Education:

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or relevant experience is preferred
One or more of the following is preferred: CCNA, CCNP, RHCSA, PMP, ITIL Foundation, AWS or other cloud certifications a plus

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
