Overview & Responsibilities

We at Paramount are looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team! Currently, we are in the process of building advanced technology tools and processes based upon automated workflows and monitoring, using the cloud infrastructure! This is a hands-on role where you will work collaboratively with the Engineering, Technical Maintenance, and Technical Admin teams. You will help build, improve, automate, and run the on-premise and cloud infrastructure, create and preserve tools for deployment and operational monitoring, and solve issues in our development, UAT, and production environments.

Responsibilities
• Develop internal products and interfaces between various products and tools.
• Maintain and continue to develop existing, vital applications.
• Build test plans and cases (manual and automated), and use tracking tools to file, monitor, and resolve issues.
• Establish and maintain functional/technical design specifications documentation.
• Communicate clearly and frequently with all team members, partners, and product owners, providing detailed status reports on project progress.
• Continuously innovate and strategize on making our applications faster and more resilient.
• Prioritize and regulate work, adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement.

Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 4 years of DevOps or equivalent software engineering experience, working with Python and JavaScript.
• Experience developing internal product APIs and working with APIs from AWS and various vendors' products.
• Experience in scripting (BASH, Perl, PowerShell, Python, Ruby) and building required automation (using standard technologies such as Puppet, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Chef).
• Minimum 4 years of experience with developing on cloud-based technologies, including integration with services from providers such as AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Linux and UNIX-based operating systems.

Additional Qualifications
• Experience developing for Windows and Linux platforms.
• Strong security and fault-tolerant mindset when crafting and building environments.
• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
• A strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, load balancing, proxies, firewalls, storage, and sys admin best practices.
• Experience with IBM Aspera Console, HSTS, and Orchestrator.
• Experience in Agile Hybrid Project Management methodologies.
• Motivated, self-directed, multitasker, and proactive.
• Great teammate with strong sense of ownership and urgency.
• Flexibility to assist with after-hours support when needed.
• Experience working within a full stack is a plus.
• Familiarity with video containers and codecs used in broadcast and streaming technologies.
• Strong knowledge of subnetting, TCP, and UDP protocols.
