Job Description
CBS Television Network is one of America's flagship television network brands built around three premier programming divisions: CBS Entertainment, CBS News and CBS Sports. CBS was established in 1928, when founder William Paley purchased 16 independent radio stations and christened them the Columbia Broadcasting system.

The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial reports, account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger and performing other accounting duties as assigned for the CBS News Division.

Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Fixed recurring and non-recurring monthly entries pertaining to syndication revenue; 60 Minutes, 48 Hours and Primetime; hard news; archive sales; leases; P-Card re-classes
• Revenue and Expense Accruals
• Intercompany Transfers
• Monthly Cashbook activity
• Sales and Use tax filings
• Prepare quarterly schedules sent to Corporate Accounting
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
• Annual tax package
• Serve as a business partner across Controllership and FP&A teams

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of professional accounting experience
• Professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus but not required
• Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices
• Experience with general ledger functions and month end/year end close process
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organization and analytical skills
• Accuracy and high attention to detail
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines
