Job Description
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is hiring a Music Associate Producer. This person will work on the music team, helping out the rest of the Talent department as needed. They will assist in managing logistics for music bookings and production, working closely with the Music Producer, and reporting to the head of the Talent department. This person should have at least 3-5 years of Television and/or Music Industry experience. Must have a strong passion for music, pop culture, and late-night television. This person should thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a positive attitude, organized self-starter, be able to adapt while multitasking at a high level, eager to pitch, as well as assist in producing & booking musical guests. The role works closely with the talent team, technical crew, and production on all aspects of guest music bookings. Must have the utmost professionalism when working with high-profile names throughout the entertainment business.

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Music Producer and Talent Assistant on all guest music booking aspects
• Advance and oversee guest performance elements & logistics for Broadcast and LateShowMeMusic online series
• Work closely with guest band personnel including PR representatives, Music Labels, and Managers prior to the performance, day of, and post appearance
• Communicate all guest band details and changes efficiently across various departments at The Late Show
• Liaise with legal and clearance to ensure lyrics, writer & publishing information, screen content, and track agreements following protocols
• Prepare cost breakdowns and budgets with the Line Producer / generate bill back to label when necessary
• Knowledge of AFM / AFTRA contracts and fees
• Assist in overseeing Talent Assistants and Talent Interns with Music Producer
• Attend Production Meetings on behalf of the Music Department
• Attend and contribute to creative calls and discussions internally and externally
• Keep up to date on all music news and trends
• Pitch potential musical guests & creative ideas
• Attend various music events, including scouting showcases and concerts
• Assist with covid testing and protocols for the guest bands

Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of Television and/or Music Industry experience
• Strong interest and knowledge of music, late-night industries, and pop culture
• Organizational skills and ability to work efficiently and effectively
• Ability to multi-task under pressure
• Knowledge of all social media platforms and understanding of social media culture and responsibility
• Positive, can-do attitude in a fast past, constantly changing environment
• Ability to think ahead, catch problems before they arise, and come up with solutions
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
• Ability to interact with high-profile talent and executives
