Job Description
Overview:

CBS Studios is looking for a Coordinator to provide day-to-day support – both administrative and communications – to CBS Studio's Head of Communications! We are looking for an individual who can multitask and handle a fast-paced environment. Candidate should also have good phone etiquette and be able to work with press and talent.

Responsibilities:

Administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to: answering heavy phone lines, managing high volume calendar, coordinating travel arrangements, routing and filing invoices, expensing and submitting travel and expense reports, and facilitating the flow of confidential and timely information throughout the department and company. Help route publicity materials through the approval process.

Communications responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Act as chief of staff in helping the Head of Communications manage a team of publicists, assistants and creative hive.
• Field general press calls and route to the appropriate party. Know when to notify supervisors of issues or whom to approach for necessary information. Requires good judgment, and ability to prioritize and be resourceful.
• Coordinate logistics, develop press materials and help staff key television industry events including Comic Con, TCA Press Tour, Primetime and Daytime Emmy Awards, among multiple show events and celebrations.
• Track development news breaks (and breaking news alerts) among the trade outlets and communicate key headlines to Studio and Network executives promptly. Responsible for compiling and distributing trade and consumer stories for senior management.
• Field and fulfill press requests as they arise promptly to accommodate press deadlines.
• Help the Head of Communications to oversee the general management of the 74 studio shows from a publicity standpoint – regularly monitor media to both proactively seek new media opportunities for them as well as help to reactively defend against potential negative news.
• Act as a liaison between CBS Television Studios Publicity and other CBS departments in supplying necessary materials and PR updates.

Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of Bachelor's degree required, preferably within English, Communications or other related field
• Preferably two years of experience in an office environment in the entertainment industry

Additional Qualifications:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of media – both traditional and social
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented department and able to work overtime hours when necessary
• Computer savvy - knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and deal with different personalities
• Ability to adapt to changing situations
