Job Description
The DC Technical Production Manager is the primary on-site manager assigned to the CBS News productions. Their primary responsibility is acting as a liaison between production and technical staff for CBS Streaming Services. Other broadcast coverage assignments include Evening News, CBS Mornings, Face the Nation or ad-hoc duties as requested by management, based on the overall DC operation's demands. This individual oversees and coordinates the delivery of all CBS resources to a production, including technical, staging, distribution, support personnel (make-up, hair, wardrobe), and production facilities.

This position works directly with Broadcast and News Bureau Leadership to facilitate the planning and execution of quality broadcasts. They are also responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and working with a resolution focused approach.

Responsibilities:
• Book crews, facilities, skype, and satellites for live remote transmissions.
• Manage the technical and logistical requirements of on-air programming as well as post and pre-productions, while working closely with operations managers to meet staffing requirements.
• Supervise the production requirements from a show's inception to its completion
• Assess workflow changes for increased reliability providing solid recommendations when needed
• Ensure efficient utilization of company resources
• Work with scheduling and operations managers to identify efficiencies in the daily schedule
• Work closely with engineering to ensure all equipment meets client expectations
• Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies
• Other assigned duties as needed

Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in live, studio television production, experience in engineering support and operational experience in broadcast studio and production control room
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
• Must understand digital production and file-based workflows
• Must have proficient computer skills, including Apple, Outlook, MS Office Suite
• Must have strong administrative and organizational skills
• Strong on-air operations and technical background
• Ability to work all shifts including days, overnights, weekends, and holidays as news demands
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization and external vendors/contractors and business partners clear communication, excellent interpersonal, and team building skills required
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks at the same time and set appropriate priorities to meet deadlines
• Work calmly and effectively under the pressure of tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and excellent follow up skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively up, down and across the organization
• Experience working in a unionized environment preferred
• Willingness to travel with short notice as needed, possible overnight travel

The position is currently operating as a hybrid work model but could change based on the needs of the business.
