Job Description
CBS Mornings is seeking a producer with strong editorial, reporting and logistical skills to cover the White House for the network's daily morning broadcast. The role requires cultivating sources, covering events across the administration, working with correspondents at the White House and being the main link between CBS Mornings and the CBS White House unit. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of TV journalism experience, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven news environment. Daily responsibilities will include drafting White House scripts, assisting in daily edits and working within a team to produce daily output. The candidate must be available to work weekends.
Overview and Responsibilities:
• Cultivate sources and cover events across the administration
• Edit taped packages, draft correspondent hits, conduct research and book interviews
• Organize crews, log events and work in a team-oriented environment

Basic Qualifications:
• 7+ years' experience working in a deadline driven television news environment
• Strong editorial/news judgment with ability to synthesize and disseminate information quickly and accurately
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Ability to travel and work weekends
• Broadcast and Digital experience preferred
• College degree in broadcast journalism, history, or political science or related field preferred, but not required
