We have an ongoing hiring need for associate producers in New York City and are continuously reviewing applicants who have a basic understanding of a news control room and have a passion for news. All applicants will be reviewed and considered for a current or near-future opening.

Your Day-to-Day:

Plan and execute content and formatting of show rundowns for a 24-hour international and domestic digital news channel.

Plan and execute news segments.
Own and master the day's International, national and political news.

Work closely with our senior show production team in a fast-paced, high pressure environment and handle breaking news.

Work with the production team on standards, rights and clearances and focus the editorial direction of language for the anchors, correspondents and on screen graphics.

Write and customize copy for anchor and reporter voices for live segments/readers as well as writing for feature and news packages.

Prepare Anchors for segment

Pitch, research & execute special, feature & recurring segments.

Available for early morning, nights, weekends, holidays - this is a 24-hour network.

What you bring to the team:

You have –

Minimum 3 years working as a show producer.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Fundamental background in journalism and media, including strong news judgment & critical thinking skills.

A passion for news both domestic and international news.

Impeccable grammar and spelling with no room for error.

Strong communication skills and ability to train and advise associate producers, production assistants and junior staff in writing and editing broadcast copy.

Command of AP style and broadcast writing.

Be able to multi-task and manage multiple assignments for regular programming as well as rolling breaking news coverage.

Detail-oriented with ability to work well with a team in a high stress, intense deadline live TV environment.

Must pass comprehensive CBS News Digital writing test.

You might also have –

Knowledge of ENPS and INews.

Strong understanding of digital and social media.

Knowledge and enthusiasm for the future of digital media.

Line producer experience.
