Overview:

The Digital Content Producer manages all 60 Minutes digital content. This role writes articles on newsmaking interviews, crafts compelling, SEO-friendly video headlines and descriptions, and collaborates with the 60 Minutes team on new ideas to grow the digital audience. This role will also regularly write original stories for CBSNews.com and will assist with other network shows as needed.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves to work collaboratively across a number of teams and is adept at juggling several responsibilities while on deadline!

The shift for this role is Sunday-Thursday from 1 to 9p ET. You will need to work some holidays and shift your schedule as news breaks. This role is hybrid, with two in-office days per week, and is based in New York.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Manage articles, transcripts and videos for 60 Minutes across multiple digital distribution points
• Write engaging, SEO-friendly headlines and descriptions for all videos; select compelling thumbnails for each video to increase click-through rate
• Write articles across a broad range of subjects, always adhering to CBS News standards
• Build and maintain video playlists across several distribution points
• Manage the 60 Minutes YouTube page
• Collaborate with the social media, SEO and G&E teams to increase visibility for content
• Maintain show landing pages
• Produce and publish the 60 Minutes newsletter

Basic Qualifications:
• You have 2+ years of experience in a digital breaking news environment and proven ability to react quickly as news develops
• You are a skilled writer who can produce quality, SEO-friendly copy on a deadline
• You're deeply familiar with analytics platforms like Google Analytics, Omniture, Chartbeat and Parse.ly
• You are a collaborative team player who loves to work across many teams

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $75,000.00 - 80,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
