DESCRIPTION:

CBS This Morning Saturday is looking for a Social Media Associate Producer to kick off its first real social media campaign. Must be passionate about news, have sharp writing skills, and have editorial judgement when it comes to creating content for a national news brand.

Duties include socializing content from CBS This Morning Saturday on multiple social networks, pitching social media ideas and strategies, and working directly with producers and on-air talent to enhance their digital presence. This role will also require working with the Broadcast Producer to get preview content to online news and entertainment sites. The candidate should have a well-established social media presence, and come with new ideas on how to better engage our CBS This Morning Saturday audience -- both on the broadcast and digitally.

Responsibilities:
-- Manage the day-to-day updating of our social media accounts (FB, Instagram, Twitter, etc)
-- Work directly with producers to promote upcoming guests and segments
-- Live-tweeting the broadcast while on the air
-- Editing social-only videos for our various platforms
-- Collaborating with correspondents and on-air talent
-- Working with the Broadcast Producer to get preview content to online news and entertainment sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:

'-- 2-3 years of experience working in digital or social media
-- A general interest in news and new media
-- Must be knowledgeable of CBS News editorial standards and be an accurate writer
-- Experience writing headlines and copy for social.
-- Must be detail-oriented and a stickler for grammar and consistency in voice.
-- Able to work under pressure and deadlines
-- Experience with Avid or similar video editing systems
-- Proven track record in conceptualizing and executing social media campaigns
-- Able to work flexible hours, Tuesday - Sunday
-- Experience developing and creating visuals and video optimized for sharing across social platforms.
-- Track performance and results of campaigns and initiatives to ensure social performance.
