Job Description

Overview & Responsibilities:

The Director, Editorial Services is an integral part of the CBS Communications team and will oversee the writing, editing, and scheduling of press materials across the robust slate of CBS Entertainment content including series, specials, and events! This hybrid role offers a mix of both in office and remote work opportunities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Write original Press Releases for key Network announcements
• Write executive remarks for public speaking engagements and presentations
• Copy edit all press and special event material generated for CBS Entertainment including press releases, storylines, program show listings and schedules, and press information – bios, show descriptions, event schedules and announcements, and more.
• Manage and upload information on the online press portal for CBS Entertainment
• Engage with Media as a publicity contact for stories, provide guidance and resource for questions

Basic Qualifications:
• 6+ years of experience in media relations.
• Bachelor's degree in either English, Communications, Journalism, Publicity or related field.

Additional Qualifications:
• Excellent communication, writing, copy-editing and grammar skills based on AP style guide
• Creative and resourceful self-starter
• Strong organizational skills, leadership and client/talent relations/customer service skills with great attention to detail.
• Demonstrated high quality of work performed, both accurately and efficiently.
• Ability to work and successfully multi-task in an extremely fast-paced, work environment while maintaining a positive outlook.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of pop culture and social media/ digital / online press.
• Ability to build positive relationships with press/media
• A great teammate available to also support fellow publicists and their projects when necessary.
• Proficient with Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, KeyNote, Teams and Slack
