The Role
The primary responsibility of the Accounting Associate – TV Packages is to maintain accurate and timely records of all client participation reporting and associated payments. Responsibilities will include analyzing both contracts and profit participation statements, basic accounts receivable/account payable duties, follow-up on client monies/outstanding invoices, data entry, billing. The Accounting Associate – TV Packages will also create and manage spreadsheets in Excel that are customized to business needs and client requests.
Responsibilities
• Review contracts to ensure accurate information is inputted into the accounting system
• Maintain regular and mutually beneficial connections with studio participation departments
• Review unapplied receipts to identify resolution
• Maintain communication with agents and third parties, including but not limited to accounting inquiries
• Perform month end close tasks, including maintaining proper accrual schedules in line with the Company's revenue recognition policy
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, yearly variance analysis to identify and explain material differences
• Conduct monthly training for new agent assistants focusing on accounting functions such as the booking report submissions process
• Responsible for identifying and collecting on past due balances while maintaining positive relationships with our suppliers and clients
• Support with special projects and/or process improvements initiatives
• Escalate issues, as needed, to the responsible Trust Accounting Supervisor
• Assist with the Company's yearly financial audit
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports presented to the Head of Business Affairs, TV
• Collect & upload profit statements, track and collect profit payments
• Support the TV Trust team with inquiries and projects
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Four or more years Accounting experience
• Entertainment experience is preferred
• Enthusiasm or interest in television a major plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work well with a team and represent the culture of the company
• Team player with a high level of energy and enthusiasm
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities
• Ability to succeed in a fast paced, highly demanding, high volume, dynamic, corporate environment
• Unimpeachable integrity and can be trusted to maintain confidential information
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Good organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; able to multi-task
• Will take initiative; ask for more work if needed
Compensation: The base hourly rate for this position is in the range of $25.00- $29.00.
