The Role

We are seeking a highly-motivated accounting supervisor with a combination of technical accounting experience, strong people leadership skills and exceptional collaboration and customer service skills to supervise the Forensic Accounting, Profit Participations, and Film Finance accounting teams. Based in Los Angeles, this position will be focused on day-to-day operations and will be responsible for the oversight of invoicing, collections, client back-end reporting and outgoing payment review. This is a perfect opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic accounting environment and is interested in motion pictures.

Responsibilities
• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Forensic Accounting, Profit Participations, and Film Finance accounts receivable department (invoicing, collections, reconciliation, follow-up and disbursements)
• Review and approve daily client and third-party disbursements (checks, wires, and ACH)
• Train and assist the team in analyzing participation and royalty reporting, contracts, distribution agreements and motion picture performance for box office bonuses
• Provide research and support to Motion Picture business affairs on ad-hoc projects and contract negotiations
• Identify areas for continual process improvement
• Approve time cards, time off requests and other HR-related inquiries for team members
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures
• Support the completion of financial statement audits
• Support new business initiatives by identifying key accounting requirements and assisting with the implementation of financial controls and processes within the existing business

Qualifications
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with participations or royalty reporting highly preferred
• Experience in the entertainment industry and with entertainment accounting preferred
• Bachelor's or higher degree in accounting or finance preferred
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, complex projects and meet deadlines
• Proven ability to work in complex, matrix organizations
• Strong customer service and collaboration skills
• A strong understanding of financial concepts, such as accruals and deferred revenue
• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
• Experience managing processes and projects that involve collaborating with teams across the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise a team, including the coaching and development of direct reports.
• Basic excel capabilities preferred

For Salaried/Exempt Roles:

Compensation: The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $80,000-$90,000.
