CAA Brand Management is a premier brand development and management business, helping clients define and execute their strategic growth initiatives across a broad spectrum of consumer products. With more than three decades of operating experience in consumer product partnerships and licensing and offices spanning 17 countries worldwide, CAA Brand Management builds innovative, revenue-generating, brand extension programs for many of the world's most iconic brands.
CAA Brand Management is seeking an experienced Financial Controller with a combination of technical and operational accounting skills to oversee the London-based accounting team and participate in our dynamic growth. This position will be focused on the day-to-day operations and tactical accounting responsibilities with an emphasis on timely completion to assist company executives with financial decision-making.
Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
• Provide oversight of the company's general ledger and monthly close process, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, for entities in UK with operation across EMEA.
• Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP & IFRS.
• Prepare and review revenue calculation based on difference between accounting standards (ASC 606 vs IFRS 15).
• Complete and review account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain financial schedules and ledgers in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Complete data analysis of company's balance sheet and income statement.
• Oversee accounts receivables, implementing and monitoring deadlines for invoicing and payment collection.
• Prepare monthly accounts receivables aging reports, providing analysis on balances outstanding and collection efforts.
• Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes, as well as compliance with new accounting standards.
• Provide mentoring, coaching and supervision to CAA Brand Management's accounting department.
• Support the completion of financial statement audits.
• Assist with the implementation of financial controls and processes.
• Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field.
• Qualified accountant, with strong analytics, a detail focused approach and broad technical comprehension including an understanding of UK and US GAAP.
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified; ideally 6+ years post qualification experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
• Public accounting experience a plus.
• Previous experience as an accounting supervisor or manager required.
• Experience in leading an audit from start to finish would also be an advantage, but not essential.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, complex projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience managing processes and projects that involve collaborating with teams across the organisation.
• Previous experience utilising financial management software packages: MS Dynamics AX preferred, but not required.
• Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
