The Role
The Assistant will provide support to an agent that focuses on art, architecture and design throughout the company. The ideal candidate will have a passion for contemporary art and culture, knowledge of themes and an interest in the history of art, its interpretation, production and care.
Responsibilities
• Administrative duties include handling phones, calendar management, correspondence, scheduling travel, preparing expense reports, and general office management tasks
• Conceptualizes, designs and produces a wide range of creative projects including presentation decks
• Assist with special projects, research, and compiling information as needed
• Serve as first point of contact with clients, agents and executives
Qualifications
• 1-2 years of prior experience working at an art museum or gallery, marketing agency or fashion brand
• Ability to work well under pressure; meet tight deadlines; manage multiple projects and expectations; maintain a sharp focus while managing competing priorities
• Attention to detail, follow-up, and strong organization skills are a must
• Strong interpersonal skills, while understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with employees at all levels
• Adept at quickly learning new processes, technology, and ability to assimilate oneself and become familiar with existing systems
• Strong Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), Photoshop, Adobe InDesign
Education
• BA/BS from an accredited University or College preferred, not required
• MA in Art or Art History or related field a plus
