The Role

The kitchen manager role is responsible for maintaining culinary support functions for video and photo production. The role is based in our NY office, will require physical presence in the studio five days a week, and will report into the Associate Director, Creative and Studio Services.

You Will
• Maintain and organize inventory for kitchen tools and equipment; coordinate bookings / reservations for inventory.
• Order kitchen materials and ingredients based on project demand.
• Ensure that all food items and products are stored safely and disposed of properly.
• Coordinate porter scheduling & needs between Production/FOSS/STAGE.
• Coordinate storage needs with FOSS/STAGE teams, seeking out and negotiating for extra space when needed.
• Maintain clean working environments and making sure that employees follow the kitchen's preventive maintenance measures
• Intake and catalog client products, maintaining stage adjacent inventories and ''cold'' storage inventories; regularly coordinate disposal and/or removal of older, no longer needed products.
• Perform routine appliance testing and report inconsistencies or repair needs promptly to Stage Operations Lead.
• Attend tech scouts for both in-house and third party users of the studio lot.
• Oversee training of employees to ensure the safe operation of kitchen equipment and the proper handling of heavy items and hazardous materials.
• Perform access, safety, and security checks/activities per direction of STAGE leads, including fire watch and PASS.
• Coordinate safety protocols in all kitchen / culinary stages and ensure coverage exists for tandem productions.
• Coordinate and receive input from the Head of Culinary to ensure scope of work for food stylists and culinary staff.
• Input and catalog performance data as assigned by supervisors for kitchen work, safety adherence, etc. to share with Studio Operations Analytics and Logistics teams.

You Have
• Servsafe Manager certification and/or Food Handler's certification.
• Kitchen management or restaurant management experience preferred.
• Restaurant experience or corporate dining experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience with the logistics / safety / workflow of kitchen operations.
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Basic computer skills, including email. Experience with Google Suite preferred, but not required.
• First aid training preferred.
• The ability to perform physical requirements of the position (ie. the ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds). These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
