The Role

BuzzFeed Inc is looking for a highly experienced and innovative leader for its Unscripted TV business. The Head of Unscripted TV will oversee the full slate of premium unscripted and alternative programming for the BuzzFeed Inc portfolio, including brands such as Tasty, BuzzFeed Entertainment, Complex, and countless more. The Head of Unscripted TV will have deep connections in the TV industry as well as a deep understanding of, and extensive experience in development and current. They should be enthusiastic about the pioneering opportunities for BuzzFeed Studios in the traditional entertainment space, and have a clear strategy for building out a slate of fresh, smart and superior programming that will sell and delight audiences around the globe. They will be a keen collaborator, energized by the opportunity to partner with first-in-class production companies, and resourceful - looking to utilize the deep resources and advantages that BuzzFeed, Inc. offers.

You Will
• Oversee the concepting, development, research, and packaging of a deep slate of programming servicing the various brands and library of IP at BuzzFeed Inc.
• Manage the relationships with third-party production companies, always looking to drive projects forward, protect the interests of BuzzFeed Inc, elevate creative and get those most out of our partnerships.
• Liaise with business affairs, operations, accounting and other admin departments as required to report on the health of your business, track and record revenue, and to ensure the interests of BuzzFeed Inc are protected within legal contracts.
• Build superior creative decks and supporting sales materials, as well as supervise editors in the creation of reels.
• Maintain a strong relationship with our talent agents, always looking to push projects forward, find innovative opportunities and ensure BuzzFeed inc stays at the forefront of their minds.
• Use data and available resources to inform future content ideas, drive up results, and develop audiences.
• Liaise with the marketing teams regularly and help facilitate what they need in order to drive audiences to our programming.
• Lead brainstorms and pitches.
• Supervise current productions.
• Be a thoughtful, diligent, self starting contributor that works at a fast pace, with enthusiasm and exceptional attention to detail.
• Be the main internal representative for all things podcast at BuzzFeed Studios.

You Have
• At least 15 years of experience working in senior positions in the television industry.
• Outstanding organization and communication skills.
• Superior project management and producurial skills.
• Superior editorial judgment and command of current events, including politics, culture, entertainment, and social media
• A self starter attitude, and an ability to multitask, work with limited resources, and work creatively and efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
• A positive, curious disposition with an active interest in figuring out what makes an audience tick.
• A great energy and attitude. Can take direction and collaborate well with others.
• A competitive drive. Humble and confident.
