How you'll LEAD:

We are currently seeking an accomplished legal/contract administrator to support the busy and dynamic Business & Legal Affairs department of UMG's merchandising division. The ideal candidate easily wears multiple hats, and is detail-oriented, energetic, and highly organized. We are seeking an ambitious, quick learner who loves building relationships and can grasp 'the big picture' behind any project. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, great organizational skills, and the ability to meet critical deadlines while calmly juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A high level of personal integrity, discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism in dealing with executives inside and outside the company is essential. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful, creative, adaptable, and have solid experience in effectively supporting an executive team within a corporate Business & Legal Affairs environment.

How you'll CREATE:
• Draft and review licensing-related contracts and documents
• Maintain data within contract databases
• Maintain accurate, complete, and organized system of digital records
• Provide reports on terms, recoupment, etc. to executives and sales team
• Enter royalties into licensing accounting database
• Legal research and memo drafting
• Draft legal correspondence for attorney review
• Summarize legal issues and prepare reports for attorney review
• Trademark and copyright registration research
• Ensure all deadlines and conditions described on contracts are met
• Royalty compliance exercises
• Work with accounting department to track and communicate reporting delinquencies timely to licensees and legal as appropriate.
• Maintain licensee lists
• Be or become a DSI/DRM systems super-user
• Assist with trade show preparation and coordination, with possibility of attendance as needed
• Assist supervisor with admin duties, expense reports, and scheduling

• College degree, paralegal certificate preferred
• At least two years proven work experience as a Paralegal, Contract Administrator, Contract Manager, or relevant role
• Knowledge of legal requirements involved with contracts
• Familiarity with brand licensing and accounting procedures
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Extremely detail-oriented, with an ability to spot errors
• Familiarity with Apple computers and software, mastery of Word, Excel, and Preview/Adobe, familiarity with USPTO and US Copyright databases
• Self-starter who can work independently with good judgment
• Solid research, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Organizes own work, coordinating projects, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and following up on assignments with a minimum of direction
• Dedicated team player
• Music industry knowledge a plus

Salary Range: $49,300 - $75,460

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
