POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing the development, management and future vision of BMI's existing online platforms. Responsibilities include: serving as the UI/UX expert for the company's website bmi.com and its mobile applications, which are the primary external communications tool for the company's songwriters, composers and publishers; and building and maintaining a collaborative relationship with BMI's IT department which owns and manages the back-end components of the website and systems.
LOCATION: New York, NY office. BMI has transitioned back to working in the office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week. Decisions regarding future transitions will take place in phases as BMI continues to closely monitor COVID-19 as employee safety is our priority.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
• Manages the overall site architecture and hierarchy as the site grows and responds to changing business and customer needs.
• Creates prototypes, interaction designs, wireframes, mockups and flow charts for web site pages/experiences and web applications.
• Oversees, manages and evaluates a team of freelancers who manage front-end development for the website, including special content pages, award show editions and stand-alone special sections.
• Evaluates outside vendors, freelancers, and new systems as they relate to the BMI platforms.
• Performs code reviews.
• Provides metrics and analysis of online content with support from consultants (Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Campaign Monitor).
• Understands and stays current on search engine optimization best practices.
• Manages the mailing list, WYSIWYG email development (campaign monitor).
• Oversees and manages the online development budget.
• Provides leadership in developing and strengthening inter-team communication and cohesiveness.
• Works with, and demonstrates respect for, team members at all levels, and consistently contributes to a positive work environment for the entire team.
• Regular in-office attendance.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides oversight of third-party and external resources, such as temps, contractors and freelancers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring and training third-party and external resources; planning, assigning, directing and ensuring reliability of work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in information design, human computer interaction, graphic design, or a related design discipline.
Experience: Min. 10 years' experience in website development and design.
Skills and Abilities: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
• Strong technical knowledge and demonstrated experience in the following technologies and standards: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Adaptive and Responsive Design, W3C specifications, and ADA web accessibility standards and requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Office suite skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills.
• Strong project management skills including scheduling, staffing and managing deliverables.
• Advanced knowledge of Content Management Systems (preferably ExpressionEngine and/or WordPress.)
• Highly collaborative with the ability to achieve goals by influencing and establishing productive relationships with internal team leaders, as well as external partners and vendors.
• Minimum five years' experience in website strategy and management, with a high fluency across information architecture, UI/UX best practices, content, SEO, and web performance analytics.
• Knowledge of back-end systems architecture, API integration, and cloud platforms (Azure.)
• Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders and cultures across time zones and locations.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work strategically, independently and be hands-on depending on the need.
• Ability to deliver on prioritized top business initiatives while also delivering innovative, new solutions.
• Extended hours beyond 40 as needed.
• Negligible travel.

Salary Range: $150,000.00-$190,000.00 (USD)
