JOB DESCRIPTION

The Big Ten Network is looking for a Crewing Supervisor to join our team in Chicago, IL. As the Crewing Supervisor, you are responsible for coordinating the booking of full production crews for all remote events in both union and non-union markets. Your responsibilities will include supervising the scheduling and dispatch of crew, reviewing BTN producer and director reports after each production, and providing timely feedback, critiques, disciplinary action, and individual development plans for crew members. You will also work closely with payroll to ensure timely payment is made to crew members.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate booking of full production crews for each event
• Oversee over 500 remote events including but not limited to Big Ten football, basketball, Olympic championships, and MICR
• Work closely with the Crewing Coordinators and third party crewers and ensure the best technicians are hired for each event
• Strategically book crew to ensure a full complement of qualified staff and to minimize costs due to potential overtime and travel scenarios
• Understand and comply with all collective bargaining agreements governing BTN markets
• Keep track of schedules to prevent unnecessary overtime
• Work with Union locals to ensure that competent personnel that are close to qualifying for benefits get hired
• Maintain a working environment that promotes diversity, inclusion, and has 100% transparency in decision making
• Build and maintain relationships with venues, universities, freelancers, and vendors
• Work closely with Coordinating Producers, Directors, and Producers on crew requests
• Review BTN producer and director reports after each production and/or event to follow up on any crew issues
• Develop strong working relationships within the Remote Operations department to understand crew requirements, including technical requirements on site
• Provide timely feedback, critiques, disciplinary action, and individual development plans to crew members
• Work closely in FACTS and with payroll to ensure timely processing of crew time cards and coding of expense forms
• Research and record crew costs for forecasting and budgeting purposes
• Provide crew cost estimates for assigned events utilizing Salesforce

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• A minimum of 4 years of related work experience
• A strong grasp of the unique nature of sports remote events and what skill sets are required to be successful in every position
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Outstanding organizational and project management skills
• Strong command skills and the ability to work in a fast pace environment
• Knowledge of union (IATSE) policies
