JOB DESCRIPTION
The Big Ten Network (BTN) is looking for a Broadcast Engineer to join their team in Chicago. As the Broadcast Engineer, you will be overseeing the engineering and maintenance of the Chicago facility. You will be responsible for connecting, quality control, troubleshooting, and repair of broadcast television equipment including cameras, switchers, video servers, as well as audio and graphics equipment. Additionally, you will conduct routing and restorative maintenance of electronics and electrical systems and execute other assignments from the Chief Engineer. Occasional travel to a Big Ten School may be required.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Repair and maintain equipment for the Chicago facility and other operations around the company
• Troubleshoot issues with Chicago studio and facility equipment
• Execute and complete projects as assigned with minimal supervision
• Assist Home Run Production (HRP) engineers with systems and troubleshooting
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 3+ years broadcast equipment repair experience in a television production environment
• Proficiency using broadcast-related test equipment including waveform monitors, vectorscopes, multimeters, oscilloscopes, test signal generators, etc.
• Solid working knowledge of electronic and electrical systems
• Excellent reasoning skills in order to assist in troubleshooting problems
• Ability to troubleshoot routing systems, audio consoles, production switchers, production support equipment, cameras, graphics systems, replay systems, and intercom systems
• Capacity to work flexible hours and shifts including weekends and holidays
• Great communication skills
• Must have competence in MS Office software applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio etc.)

• 2 year Technical degree
• CAD experience
