Job Summary

The Director of Audience Development & Digital Marketing will be a key member of BET Digital's team, and will play a meaningful role in driving inventive and efficient digital audience development and marketing campaigns that build awareness, drive traffic, and create business value to support the growth our network of sites, apps, social footprint, and third-party partnerships.

This role works collaboratively with key constituents, including the Editorial Newsroom, Ad Operations, Production, UX & Design, Network Marketing, and Digital Analytics & Research teams. Charged with setting strategy and leading all aspects of budget, this individual will coordinate traffic, customer acquisition and marketing campaigns via all available channels. The Director's focus is to lead and be a respected voice in the strategy and direction of BET Digital, and will report directly to the VP of Audience Development & Digital Marketing.

Responsibilities
• Utilize internal and 3rd party data to coordinate efficient marketing strategies that increase awareness, consumption of content, products, and tentpole events
• Build inventive and measurable on-brand digital marketing programs (SEM, SEO, Facebook, display, among others) for all platforms and products
• Develop culture and processes for optimizing digital marketing campaigns through iterative process of testing and adjustment
• Coordinate budget allocation to deliver digital priorities
• Lead strategic marketing/traffic/customer acquisition partnerships, creative executions, and influencer programs
• Evaluate, hire, and develop relationships with existing and new platforms, partners and vendors; review, recommend, and manage tools, services, and vendors
• Partner with Digital Analytics UX & Design, Editorial and Product teams and ability to prioritize goals

Basic Qualifications
• 8-10 years digital marketing experience within consumer-focused industries; at least 5 years in audience development and digital media
• Strong track-record in the development and implementation of digital initiatives, with a proven track record with metrics-based marketing campaigns on digital platforms
• Experience working with growing presence and fan base on video and social platforms
• Proficiency in Omniture, Google Analytic, comScore, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
• Experience managing paid digital campaigns (PPC, search, display, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and budgets, coordinating vendors and platforms
• Proven ability to promote/market digital products, mobile apps, and sites
• Experience optimizing, growing and managing email programs
• BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience; MBA preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills a requirement

Additional Qualifications
• Ability to stay up-to-date on industry developments and competitors and to be active in the media community
• Ability to manage budgets and timelines on campaigns supporting business goals
• Experience working as a manager who can serve as a mentor to a hardworking team
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and in addressing situations effectively, as well as experienced in affecting change and direction
