Responsibilities

Roles And Responsibilities:

Perform operational and design support for the digital audio streaming environment. The environment is distributed across 45+ cities in the United States.
Our team's first priority is to create a highly available streaming environment that starts with the station broadcast and ends at the consumer's listening device (desktop, mobile, and smart devices). You will be responsible for:
• Maintaining the audio encoding environment in each market
• Diagnose and solve issues related to station programming and dynamic ad insertion
• Create documentation for our level one support team so that they can diagnose and solve issues
• Research, test and recommend new innovative ways to digitally stream audio
• Support station moves as it relates to the streaming environment
• Provide rotational on-call support
• Implement automation and monitoring that improves the availability and visibility

Qualifications

More About You:

Qualifications:
• Demonstrates broad experience in the design, build, and commissioning of audio systems
• Understanding of broadcast automation and encoding technologies. Knowledge of WideOrbit Automation, Telos, AmperWave, StreamGuys, and Triton is a plus.
• Understanding of HLS, AAC and MP3 encoding, decoding, and file structure and metadata
• 2-4 years of experience in supporting audio or video streaming products, including encoding, content delivery networks, and mobile device/desktop player technologies
• 2 years working in radio or OTT operations
• Knowledge of cloud based streaming technologies
• Experience with radio automation/playout systems a plus
• Experience with digital audio signal processing a plus
• Experience with digital (direct sold/programmatic) advertising and/or in-stream ad injection a plus
• Experience with issue tracking systems (preferably Jira, ZenDesk)
• Understanding of how to measure quality of experience (QoE) for audio streams
• Solid IT skills including TCP/IP networking concepts, Linux and Windows servers, redundant computer system concepts, administration, etc.
