Sports Anchor WFAN/CBS Sports Radio (part-time)
Overview

New York's flagship sports talk station WFAN 101.9FM/660AM and CBS Sports Radio is seeking a part-time Sports Anchor. If you know New York sports and you are a great story teller with an engaging personality we may have the perfect job for you. You will create and deliver daily fast-paced entertaining and sports updates, focusing heavily on comprehensive coverage of the major New York sports brands and the development of hot topics of local and national scope. You will also be required to interact live with talk shows with updated information and actualities. If you understand that radio is a two-way, cross-platform digital experience, this may be the place for you! You'll also be required to deliver an hourly update and write headlines for the flagship station of the New York Mets, WCBS 880-AM!

The anticipated starting salary range for New York City-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $46.17/hr-$46.17/hr.

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:
• Perform broadcasts that are entertaining and informative
• Communicate daily with producer and program director to ensure program goals are met
• Interact with the audience on-air and via social media on a daily basis
• Maintain strong contacts and relationships with local sports brands
• Prepare and research for broadcasts
• Protect the station's FCC license
• Write and edit hourly reports for WFAN and CBS Sports Radio, and WCBS 880-AM.
• Review audio and edit actualities for air.
• Making personal appearances at station events and remote broadcasts
• Other duties as required by management

Qualifications

More About You:
• Must be an excellent communicator with strong creative skills
• Must have solid production skills and a strong working knowledge of studio audio equipment necessary for on-air and production execution.
• Knowledge of the format and audience required
• Knowledgeable of FCC guidelines
• Connections and familiarity with New York and National sports landscape

Required:
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Google Applications (Drive, Docs, Drive, etc…) and have the ability to fully utilize all the tools of broadcast and social media in the field (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram live and recorded video and audio equipment, etc.)
• Position requires proficiency or aptitude in editing and packaging news sound and interviews.
• Position requires contemporary sound and excellent on-air delivery.
• Knowledge of the broadcast area and station demographics is essential.
• A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.

Preferred:
• 3+ years anchoring or reporting news or sports
