Overview
WTIC NewsTalk 1080 is searching for a highly motivated individual to be our afternoon drive producer. This person will help create compelling content for both over the air and for our digital assets.
You must be organized and able to wear many hats, over communicate effectively with talent, management, guests, our sales department, and our listeners. The right candidate is excited to contributeideas and/or execute the ideas of the team.
While your primary responsibilities will be running our audio board and producing, you could be included in talk segments from time to time so on-air work and being entertaining is important as well.
Social media skills and PR/Marketing are important. Good energy, a positive team attitude, and a strong work ethic are a must.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
• Researching broadcast topics and develop ideas for show content
• Scheduling guests and live interviews
• Organizing daily audio and prepping for segments.
• Providing creative input on broadcast elements
• Running a tight audio board, keeping all elements of the show running on time.
• Screening phone calls for both on air and contests.
• Contribute to social networking and website updates
• Uploading podcasts and written descriptions to our website and app.
• Building & maintaining a contact list for regular guest bookings.
• Protecting the station's FCC license
• Other duties as required by management.
Qualifications
Required & Preferred:
• Background in producing talk radio preferred
• Working knowledge of operating audio equipment, a must
• Ability to edit audio
• Ability to use Google Suite
• Requires creative approach and ability to prioritize
• Knowledge of the broadcast area and station demographics is essential
• Digital posting experience preferred
• A high degree of time management and organization skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Minimum of 3+ years producing radio show.
• Must have a valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance is required.
