Job Overview:
The SVP, Licensing for ASCAP is responsible for licensing strategy and negotiations for national accounts spanning traditional and digital audiovisual platforms (e.g. NBC, WarnerMedia, Netflix), audio only platforms (e.g. Spotify, Apple, etc.) and emerging platforms (e.g. social, gaming/e-sports, AR/VR, voice, connected car, voice), including deal execution/administration, and domestic revenue operations.As a key member of the Licensing leadership team, this role is responsible for the development and execution of ASCAP's licensing strategy to drive market penetration and revenue growth. They will be a proactive thought leader, highly skilled at closing complex commercial transactions in all forms, and dedicated to ASCAP's commitment to obtain fair compensation for the public performances of its members' works.

Responsibilities
• Effectively manage, develop and execute ASCAP licensing operations, including deal strategy, negotiations, and enforcement of licensing policies and procedures
• Proactively identify new opportunities/platforms for increased penetration and revenue and deepen relationships with current licensees
• Assist in the development and management of the annual domestic licensing revenue and expense budgets
• Adeptly assemble all the resources and experts from all departments across ASCAP, including outside counsel, in the development of key account licensing approach and analysis
• Drive the pre-determined annual revenue goal for market leading/dominant accounts
• Partner and collaborate with other ASCAP departments, including Business & Legal Affairs, International, Membership, Global Technology Solutions, Marketing, and Distribution & Repertory (among other teams)
• Support EVP of Licensing to mine for and shepherd emerging technology developments/platforms and opportunities across ASCAP, and innovative licensing models and practices

Qualifications
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in content distribution, strategy and licensing within the entertainment industry (publisher, label, PRO, platform), with an emphasis on digital music and entertainment services. International licensing experience a plus.
• Extensive breadth and depth of knowledge of music licensing, copyright, entertainment, content distribution and digital industries and their business practices
• Ability to guide ASCAP into emerging technological areas, drive revenues, and rally internal and external support for new and innovative licensing models and practices
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external parties in evaluating and completing deals
• Proven track record in negotiating and implementing revenue-driven partnerships, taking into consideration the commercial, legal, and political aspects of the music industry, its complexities and their impact on ASCAP and Licensing
• Ability to clearly convey complex analyses to all relevant stakeholders (i.e., management, licensees, etc.).
• Capacity for complex data rich analysis and astute financial acumen
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team to achieve results
• Able to work effectively in a results-driven, fast-paced dynamic business environment in a sector undergoing extensive change
• Exceptional work ethic and stamina, willing to work long hours when required
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree (e.g., JD) preferred
