Pipeline TD - Animation

Job Description

We're looking for a Pipeline TD to work with us for our upcoming feature animations! The Pipeline TD is responsible for supporting creative and visual objectives through pipeline troubleshooting, user support, technical direction, and tool development. They will work closely with the Animation department, as well as Assembly, Layout, Editorial, and R&D teams to ensure a standardised approach.

What you'll get to do:
• Work closely with award winning teams on state of the art technology to produce ground breaking movies
• Assist Animation, Layout and Editorial teams, developing innovative new ways to optimise workflows as well as helping out with day-to-day issues
• Work with other pipeline TDs in close knit teams organised using the latest agile methodologies
• Get to work on the latest open-source industry standard software such as USD and OTIO with the opportunities to contribute back to the communities.
• Maintain and contribute to a fully automated documentation process to ensure clients have the latest information

What you bring:
• Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate ideas and technologies in clear and concise ways
• Good listening skills. Be able to listen to the requirements and requests from clients and managers
• Time management. Self-motivated and able to prioritise multiple requests and deadlines. Ability to clearly time estimate on work required
• Passionate about delivering high quality work, following through, and ensuring clients and managers are completely satisfied with the outcome
• Excellent problem solving. Being able to work through, debug and resolve problems in a fast passed environment
• Solid knowledge in Python as well as PyQt or other GUI toolkit

What you could also bring:
• Proven pipeline TD experience in large scale animated features, animated TV series and/or VFX feature films
• Experience using and troubleshooting in Maya (or other similar software, Houdini, Nuke)
• An understanding of traditional animation and layout techniques
• An understanding of USD and its general concepts
