We are seeking an accomplished marketing leader to manage a team of event marketers and producers as part of the Global Artist Marketing Team. This is an opportunity to join a growing team and make a significant contribution to build world-class events and experiential activations for our music customers. To be successful in this role you will need to be creative and dedicated to continually testing, measuring, and evolving your strategic event programs and special projects.

Key job responsibilities
This role will manage a team of event marketers and producers that focus on engaging recording artists and music customers at large strategic events, both for industry and owned events. Specifically, this role is responsible for developing the annual strategic event strategy and activation plan, scoping event proposals for leadership, overseeing the events budget, and owning event metrics to evaluate impact to the business. Amazon Music's strategic events include industry events like award shows, sporting events and music festivals; as well as large, owned special projects.

A day in the life
The day-to-day of this role includes managing an operating plan, strategic events calendar, developing new event recommendations, managing a team that executes logistics and project manages events, and interfacing with executives, artists, and customers frequently. To be successful you will need to think big and creatively on event concepts that delight our customers, establish clear processes, have high attention to detail, and ruthlessly measure event effectiveness. This person will need to write and communicate effectively to leadership, as strategic events carry senior level goals within the organization. The right candidate will be a self-starter and have strong interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills. This role manages a team of event marketers and producers around the US, and requires travel.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
• Building and leading a team responsible for strategic events, experiential activations and special projects
• Work cross-functionally with marketing and brand teams, editorial, label and artist relations, insights and analysts, legal, and PR to deliver high quality event programs
• Continually raise the bar and propose new events, and garner learnings across strategic events to iterate over time
• Understand the music industry and develop new event ideas that could delight artists and customers in a surprising and unique way, while remaining frugal
• Develop mechanisms, processes, and measurement of all events to understand what is working and what needs improvement
• Own operations and prioritization of event resources; conduct monthly business reviews and annual resource planning
• Move easily between generating big, creative ideas and driving ongoing process improvement.
• Ability to identify stakeholder needs, implement prioritization
• Frequently presenting to leadership; including scoping new proposals, program reviews for in-process events, and post-event evaluations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 9+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
• Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
• Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
• Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
• Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data
• Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 8+ years' experience in event marketing and/or brand, program, or experiential marketing
• 4+ years building, leading, and developing teams
• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related discipline
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven track record of delivering innovative entertainment experiences (inclusive of live events) to large audiences.
• Experience working cross-functionally and driving decision making among stakeholders with competing goals
• Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
• Equally comfortable building strategic marketing plans and executing at a tactical leve
• Ability to identify better ways of working at scale through building new mechanisms and processes, and ability to deliver against lofty goals on time
• Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
• Experience managing external agencies, vendors, and production companies
• Operational excellence managing schedules and budgets
• Ability to travel domestically & internationally 10+ times per year and work across time zones
• Proven skills in building strong team culture
• MBA or related masters
• Digital advertising and advertising technology experience
